Llega a Europa noticia del Proyecto (Associated Press)


STORYLINE:
Guadalajara/MexicoCity September 11th 2009.

New comer director Victor Mayorga is developing an animated film trilogy on the aztec culture: La marca del jaguar (The Mark of the Jaguar).
Supported in his research by the Aztec Expert and recently deceased authority Felipe Solís, this film will deal with the aztec culture in the previous years of the spanish conquer of Mexico and the facts after the arrival of the conquerors.
The new film company created by Mayorga has already developed a short film called "La Cueva", a story of an aztec warrior during his process of ritual preparation.
Using "anime", 3d and 2d techniques, the film project is being designed to reach new audiences, and supported by the same voice over artists and audio studio that gives voice to several movies and cartoons in latin america.
"It is important that the mexican audiences, grow up with mexican heroes, so they can relate with history, and get a diferent perspective of the ingienous heritage" says the project advisor and aztec expert María Castañeda, researcher of the Autonomus National University of Mexico.
The full project is planned to be developing in a 15 years spam, in order to be able to create the full feature films, as well as 6 seasons of an animated series, and a paperback novel.
Besides documentaries, the aztec civilzation has had very few fiction aproaches in film and TV.
